The Global Carbon Council (GCC) will participate in Innovate4Climate (I4C) 2026, taking place from 20–22 May 2026 at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre in Singapore.
Bringing together governments, multilateral institutions, private sector leaders, and carbon market practitioners from around the world, Innovate4Climate serves as a key platform for advancing climate finance, carbon pricing, and market-based climate solutions. GCC will engage with stakeholders on interoperable carbon market infrastructure and digitally enabled carbon finance solutions.
A key focus of GCC’s participation will be its Carbon Market Infrastructure (CMI), developed under GCC 2.0. The CMI is an integrated and interoperable carbon registry and market infrastructure solution designed to support countries in operationalizing Article 6.2 carbon markets. The infrastructure includes transaction registry and national registry modules that support ITMO issuance and tracking, corresponding adjustments, interoperability, and transparent reporting aligned with international best practices.
GCC will also highlight its role in implementing and operating the ASCENT Carbon Program Standard Portal under the World Bank-supported ASCENT Carbon Program. The initiative aims to facilitate finance flows from carbon markets to support sustainable and clean energy access transformation across ASCENT countries through clean cooking solutions, off-grid solar, mini-grids, and grid extension technologies.
The ASCENT Carbon Program seeks to accelerate sustainable energy access for 100 million people and clean cooking access for 20 million people across more than 20 countries in the Africa region. The program is expected to be formally launched during Innovate4Climate 2026.
During the event, GCC will also conduct dedicated presentations and stakeholder engagements on the ASCENT Portal and GCC’s Carbon Market Infrastructure (CMI), highlighting the role of interoperable digital infrastructure in enabling transparent, scalable, and efficient carbon market operations.
