The workshop on “Understanding and Implementing CORSIA Requirements in Oman” brings together key aviation and climate stakeholders to explore the requirements, opportunities, and pathways under ICAO’s CORSIA, a global carbon offsetting scheme.

Representing the Global Carbon Council, Our Senior Director, Amit Thusu will contribute to two key sessions:

  • Session 1: Accreditation Process for CORSIA-Eligible Program

    Amit will outline how GCC’s international accreditation empowers project developers to meet CORSIA requirements for phase 1 and accelerate access to carbon markets.

  • Session 2: Identifying Opportunities for Omani Projects (Q&A)

    In this interactive session, Amit will join as moderator and speaker, helping stakeholders explore pathways to identify CORSIA-eligible projects in Oman.

With over 141+ projects climate-positive projects registered globally and 10+ million issued ACCs,  GCC continues to support capacity-building, project accreditation, and climate ambition aligned with international standards.

Through real-world examples and in-depth guidance, the workshop will:

  • Clarify how CORSIA aligns with broader climate frameworks like the UNFCCC
  • Explore the role of Article 6 in aviation sector mitigation
  • Share success stories from the Global South, including the GCC’s experience
  • Provide pathways for Oman to identify and develop eligible projects
  • Promote regional readiness, collaboration, and sustainable economic impact
