The Global Carbon Council (GCC) marked its 10th anniversary with a special gathering led by Dr. Yousef Alhorr, the Founding Chairman reflecting on GCC’s journey since its launch in 2016 to becoming a globally recognized carbon standard and climate infrastructure ecosystem.
The occasion also celebrated GCC’s recent recognition 🏆 as a CCP-Eligible Program by the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM), further reinforcing confidence in GCC’s governance, frameworks, and commitment to high-integrity carbon markets.
Addressing the GCC team, Dr. Yousef reflected on the organization’s growth, achievements, and international recognitions over the past decade, including GCC’s approvals under ICAO’s Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA).
💬 “Such achievements strengthen our responsibility to continue advancing with credibility, integrity, and a commitment to continuous progress.”
Over the last 10 years, GCC has continued advancing high-integrity carbon markets, digital infrastructure, and climate finance solutions supporting voluntary markets, CORSIA, and Article 6 implementation.
🤝 The celebration was also an opportunity to recognize and thank the GCC team whose dedication and commitment continue to drive the organization forward.
As GCC enters its next chapter, the organization remains committed to enabling transparent, scalable, and globally aligned climate solutions for the future.
